What is a Hackintosh?
Hackintosh is a modest version of Apple’s macOS that can run on non-Apple devices. But simply the Windows OS or Linux OS you can’t just pick any laptop and install it, to be able to run it, you need a device that has hardware that is relevant to the OS. A Hackintosh is any non-Apple hardware that has been made to run macOS. It can apply to any hardware, whether it’s a manufacturer or your own built computer. In simple words, Hackintosh is your standard laptop or desktop PC which was designed to work with either a Windows or a Linux operating system.
Why people want a Hackintosh computer?
There are many reasons why people want to build a Hackintosh computer.
People want Hackintosh pc because buying your own parts and assembling them according to your needs yourself is less expensive than one offered by apple.
People prefer macOS over Windows, but they don't want to spend a fortune on buying a Mac. Besides, a Mac is a pre-built computer. Nowadays, people select their hardware and build their machines based on their needs. Others want the computer to have a certain look and feel, or they don't like Mac's design.
Furthermore, Mac computers are locked down we cannot upgrade their parts, easily install more RAM, replace the hard drive, etc. Users are more passionate about turn to Hackintosh to run macOS, because Hackintosh provides the scalability and power of a PC, along with the efficiency of macOS. And then there are curious users want to experiment with a different OS.
Why Hackintosh is better instead of buying a Mac?
Hackintosh allows deeper customization than traditional Mac. Typically, this isn’t possible: Apple restricts their operating system to specific hardware, which only they supply But with careful hardware purchasing and some clever software hacking, you can make macOS run on PC parts.”
“It isn’t always an easy process, and even identical hardware configurations can have different outcomes, But for users that get it running, it’s an awesome way to get macOS on custom hardware.”
Building a Hackintosh is easier than it has ever been before. It is a flexible, customizable, dual-booting gaming machine that costs vastly less than a high-end Mac – and might even run better to boot.

Hardware required for Building Hackintosh PC.
If you want to build a Hackintosh PC and wanted running the latest macOS smoothly and error-free? But if you are not sure about the selection of best components that will make your Hackintosh perform super fast and efficiently? Then you came to the right place.
This post will help you to choose the right kind of Hardware for building a Hackintosh PC.
Hackintosh compatible Motherboards
The right motherboard will allow for more effective operational features and fewer issues along the way.
⦁ Gigabyte Z390 AORUS ULTRA.
⦁ ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero.
⦁ MSI Intel Z390-A PRO.
⦁ GIGABYTE Z390 I AORUS PRO WiFi.
⦁ ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming-ITX/AC
Intel Processors is the best choice for your Hackintosh build project.
⦁ i3 4th Generation processor.
⦁ i5 4th Generation processor.
⦁ i7 4th generation processor.
Integrated Graphic (GPU)
With Mavericks the old 1st generation iGPU also working but if you want to use processors for macOS Sierra, then go with at least 4th generation GPU. These are iGPUs are native support list:
⦁ Intel HD Graphics on 1st Generation Intel Core i Processor.
⦁ Intel HD 3000 on 2nd Generation Intel Core i Processor.
⦁ Intel HD 4000 on 3rd Generation Intel Core i Processor. ( Ivy Bridge ).
⦁ Intel HD 4400 (laptop only) /4600/5000/Iris on 4th Generation Intel Core i Processor.
⦁ Intel HD 530 on 6th Generation Intel Core i processor.
I chose to use 8MB of RAM, and that’s probably more than I need. Since it’s easy to add RAM to a home-built computer, there’s no need to plan ahead. And there are no savings when buying more RAM: 16GB costs twice as much as 8GB.
⦁ Samsung 860 EVO 250GB.
⦁ Samsung 860 EVO 500GB.
⦁ Seagate Barracuda 1TB.
The Software You Need to Build a Hackintosh
These are among the apps that you’ll need. For the most part, you’ll download these onto an old Mac for either building your bootloader or later use on your Hackintosh. Here’s the list:
Clover, This is your bootloader, which will allow you to boot into your copy of macOS. This is where the magic happens, and it will live on your machine’s UEFI partition, where boot instructions live. I recommend that you use this fork of it that has been tailored for laptop needs.
Apple’s Xcode It is most important for editing your config.plist file, the file in your Clover folder that tells the machine what to do load the boot process. You can use a code editor for this—my personal preference is Atom but this removes room for error in the editing process as it presents the list in a graphical interface, rather than raw code. That said, something of a best-of-both-worlds is the editor PlistEdit pro which allows you to edit both in code and dialog-box interfaces, which comes in handy if you’re pasting an entry into your plist file.
IORegistry explorer This is such a tool but for a specific Mac device, it is a simple app that can explore all the firmware configuration for further analysis. The intuitive interface supports the display of the function in several planes.
Carbon Copy Cloner It's can backing up and restoring files and folders from any given time and – if you boot from your Mac OS X installation disc – can even restore your entire system. It can be used to back up selected files and folders, and perform incremental backups so only the changes to a drive are recorded on subsequent backup runs.
EasyUEFI is Windows software which allows you to manage the EFI/UEFI boot options and the EFI System Partitions. It owns comprehensive EFI/UEFI boot option management functions, such as create, delete, edit, clean up, backup and restore boot options.
Intel Power Gadget
This tool -a mainstay will give you an idea if you’re getting full performance from your machine, as well as your power consumption.
Do Hackintoshes perform as well as actual Macs? Are they stable?
If you organize your Hackintosh PC correctly it will work amazingly. Means if all of your Hackintosh components are exclusive build than used in the official Apple Computers then you will outperform to any Mac. The Clover team works hard to build this software. We can easily update macOS as it does update in real Mac now. And hardware issues are not too much remained. if you build a good PC then you don’t need to worry about anything. Hackintosh is not for everyone.
Hackintosh is not for everyone it is higher in performance than a Mac, depending on the hardware used. Below you'll find all the advantages and disadvantages of Hackintosh so that you can decide.
Advantages and disadvantages of building a Hackintosh
⦁ The advantage of building Hackintosh you have the freedom to upgrade or replace parts as per your need. You can install more RAM in it or want to replace a hard drive, No problem.
⦁ Hackintosh computers are best in performance you can enjoy faster speeds. Exclusive graphics cards can also be installed, improve much of the processing demands of the CPU and making the rig faster and more efficient as a result.
⦁ Hackintosh computers are significantly cheaper to make. You’ll spend less money on your own Hackintosh than you would buy a Mac.
⦁ Hackintosh allows you to Organise your system from the ground up. It allows you to select every component from the case to the motherboard, power supply, and even the monitor that you’ll be using.
⦁ Users can make their own choice between a wide range of parts, plus they pick the monitor or a PC case according to their liking.
⦁ Hackintosh is specific hardware that won't run on any PC, you have to buy specific parts to make it work.
⦁ Hackintosh will take a lot of effort to make it work, even with the right hardware. There may be running issues at any point after the installation, and that will require search and digging into articles and forums to solve them.
⦁ If anything goes wrong, which is not a rare phenomenon on Hackintosh computers, you have to fix Apple won't support you in any way. This is a very serious drawback for those that want to use Hackintosh for professional purposes, and thus it is definitely not recommended for such cases.
⦁ When you update it, don't expect a smooth experience as it would be the case with an official Mac computer.
⦁ Apple Genius Bar never solves the Hackintosh user's problems.
Is Hackintosh legal?
When we install macOS or any operating system in the OS X family on non-official Apple hardware, you violate Apple’s EULA for the software. According to Apple company, Hackintosh computers are illegal, due to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. If you use a legitimately purchased copy of macOS, it is legal to install it on any machine you want.
That would make sense if you didn't agree to Apple's end-user license agreement. The license terms do not allow us to install the software on a non-Apple machine.
If you install macOS on non-official hardware, you break the contract and the copyright law. Apple, on the other hand, has the right to act upon a break of contract and right violation. Apple doesn't care or doesn't want to spend money and effort against such acts. PCsteps doesn't hold any responsibility for your actions. It depends on you whether you decide to build a Hackintosh and run into problems with Apple.
This content I’ve shown you through the pros and cons of building a Hackintosh, the parts that make up a modern desktop computer, how to select parts that will make OS X as stable and simple to install as possible and described the parts I chose and my rationale for it. The purpose of this article is purely informative. Using the Hackintosh laptops are best only for projects and hobby perspective. It is very expensive for any commercial purpose. Otherwise, it is a great option for those not looking to invest money on Macbook and still wanting to use Apple OS.
